The GE IS215VPROH2BD is a Turbine Protection Board in the Mark VI Speedtronic series, serving as a core component of an independent emergency overspeed protection system. Designed to enhance turbine safety, it operates alongside TPRO and TREG terminal boards, forming a redundant safety mechanism critical for gas, steam, and wind turbine operations.

As part of a triple-redundant setup, the board manages trip solenoids via the TREG board, ensuring fail-safe emergency shutdowns during overspeed events or emergencies. It features Ethernet connectivity for IONet communication with control modules, enabling real-time monitoring and integration into broader turbine control architectures. With robust hardware and versatile input/output capabilities, it delivers reliable protection across diverse industrial applications.

Features:
Triple Redundancy: Part of a three-board system in a dedicated module, isolated from the main control system to ensure independent operation and fault tolerance.

Emergency Protection: Executes emergency overspeed protection and emergency stop functions, controlling up to three trip solenoids via TREG and TRPG terminal boards; either board can trigger a turbine trip for redundancy.

Relay Control: Manages 12 relays on TREG, with 9 configured into three voting groups to activate trip solenoids, and supports a secondary TREG via J4 for enhanced backup.

Versatile I/O: Accepts inputs from passive speed pickups, thermocouples, 4-20 mA signals, and trip interlocks; outputs drive trip solenoids, economizer relays, and breaker commands for protective actions.

Installation & Diagnostics: Hot-swappable via secure latching connectors; front-panel diagnostic lights verify initialization, with firmware updates recommended for optimal performance.

Power & Performance: Operates on 70-145V DC input, delivering 5V and 28V DC outputs; high 100 Hz frame rate enables real-time data processing, with MPU cable support for sensors up to 300m away.
